You have reached the website for the Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Model Car Club which is one of the premier off road model car clubs within the UK and until December 2009 was operating from Goosey Lodge Farm Estate Wymington within ear shot of the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire.

The club has been based around the Rushden area for nearly 10 years and when served with the eviction notice to disband the club from Goosey Lodge Farm Estates new owners the Club wanted to remain within earshot of Santa Pod and maintain its ties with Rushden following the support the club recieved from the towns Mayor and local councillers.

For those who are unaware the Goosey Lodge Estate was sold in October and the club was served a notice on the 5th December by Goosey Lodges new owners who wanted the club disbanded and removed from the site. The original leaving date was extented from the 20th to the 4th Jan'10 at the latest. This notice took the club by surprise as a planning application was currently in with Bedfordshire borough Council along with a noise survey which confirmed the club operates in accordance with all current legislation.

Despite being served this notice a few weeks before Christmss the committee of the club were pleased to annouce ahead of the festive season that they had located a new venue which is yards away from Santa Pod.

With the help of our friends and members a new facility will be built akin to what you see within this website. The club is aimming for a mid June reopening for some summer racer and bashing ahead of the 2010 winter series.

Please keep an eye on the website\forum for details of work parties if you want to help shape the 2010 Nene facility or able to offer assistance in the clubs quest.

The club aims to establish the Nene once again as a premier facility for off road racers to be proud of and ensuring that local racers from Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and further a field have an high class venue to run at.

The club is based within earshot of the Santa Pod Raceway on the outskirts of Rushden in Northamptonshire and are affiliated to the BRCA (British Radio Car Association) and run vehicles inline with the associations guidelines.

The club hosts may meetings and in 2009 it hosted the British round of the 2009 Large Scale Off Road EFRA championship over the August bank holiday weekend, 27th to the 30th August 2009. The event opened with a fly past by the Red Arrows.

During 2008 the club underwent its biggest makeover to date switching to an all weather track utilising a surface obtained by our then landlord, the makeover took its time but the end result was worth waiting for according to those drivers who have visited the Nene at Goosey Lodge since its transformation to an all weather facility.

The Nene has always had one of the largest off road model car club tracks in the UK with a suitably sized rostrum to match and these trade marks of the Nene continued with the addition of flood lighting during the 2008 makeover and this improvements will continue in 2010 at the Santa Pod Facility.

The Nene caters for all levels of racers, young and old, new and experienced and has within its members some of the most competitive racers in the UK in both Rally X and Large Scale Off Road Racing. New members are always welcome, so if our website has wet your appetite then please call in to the club on one of our track days and one of our committee members will be glad to answer any questions you have. Likewise feel free to contact any of our committee members via this website or join the NVR forum.

Within the ranks of the Nene we have 2010 team sponsored drivers in Large Scale (Adult and Junior), Rally Cross both Nitro and Electric and up and coming junior drivers too. Don't be afraid come and race at the Nene.

The Nene wishes to thank all those who visited the original Nene track at Goosey Lodge, with the final race on this track occurring during national motor sports week and was featured on local Northamptonshire radio & in the local press when the BRCA LSOR series visited the Nene for its second visit in 2007. In 2009 the Nene jonied forces with the BRCA and supported the local BBC with a Silverstone theme event in Northamptons Market Square.

The Nene supported our previous landlords Cystic Fibrosis Trust charities in 2009 in memory of Jodi and Lucinda Dunmore via the EFRA Grand Prix meeting.

2009 saw the Nene open for local racers to bash around and also -

Completion of the 2008 NVR winter series

6 Round Large Scale Summer Series between March and September.

4 Round Rally Cross Summer Series sponsored by Future World Models.

2009 Winter series commenced in October for both Large Scale and Rally Cross vehicles - Nitro and Electric vehicles welcome.

The 2009 British Large Scale Off Road National Series visited the Nene over the weekend of the 23/24th May and 57 of the countries best Large Scale Off Road racers.

The Nene hosted the 2009 Large Scale Off Road British Grand Prix, Round 5 of the EFRA series between the 28th and 30th August. This event helped support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Track side timings transmitted live to this website to keep all family and friends up to date.

2010 will be a difficult year for the Nene having to rebuild from the ground up once again but we will do it and with your help make the Nene the off road model club to be a member off.

Memberships are currently being taken as each pennie will count to help rebuild the Nene. Please visit the membership area for further membership details and those coming to the work parties please bring them there if you are worried about posting.
