Good evening all,
Firstly can I thank all the Nene members under Darren Smith’s aka Digger direction who spent many hours preparing the club since we could reopen in July and getting the venue Covid compliant for the 2020 Astro Attack.
Secondly can I thank all who attended this years race meeting which was run inline with our associations Covid guidelines which in this new era provided us all with challenges to over come and roll out a cracking meeting. I believe the Nene did our sport proud and provided those who attended another wonderful, and enjoyable charity meeting in a safe environment whilst supporting the clubs desirer to smash last years target and raise funds for this years charity, and wow, we have done that!
I can confirm that despite the limitations placed on the event we have managed to achieve our objective of another year on year increase and this weekend we have managed to raise £3,340 for the Lullaby Trust.
So thank you to those who donated, the raffle contributors, ticket buyers, Digger for his time and effort in arranging the whole thing and to Louise for selling the tickets for us too.
The club wishes to thank all who supported us trackside and it was nice to see an increase in attendance numbers with a great 1/8th and 1/5th mix, hopefully a few more juniors next year would be nice as they are our future racers.
Our 2020 Trophy takers were :-
- 1/8th Truggy – Kieran Cox
- 1/8th Buggy – Jon Spencer
- 1/8th E-Buggy – Carl Chillingworth
- 1/5th 2WD Buggy – Mark Higgins
- 1/5th 4WD Buggy – Leon Satchell
- 1/5th Short Course – Ian Oddie
- Driver of the weekend award, this went to Mark McCabe who had never raced before and did himself proud in the 1/5th Short Class with his MCD Truck.
I look forward to welcoming you back to the Nene in the near future, or your annual visit to the Nene for the 2021 Astro Attack!
Once again from the Nene club THANK YOU.
