Club Info.

Welcome, you have reached the website of the Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Model Car Club who were named the 2019 and 2010 BRCA Club Of The Year. Why not come along and see what we do.

Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Model Car Club welcomes members from all the main off road scales from 1/10th to Large Scale and has an active 1/8th and Large Scale section with its 340m track favouring these two scales.

The clubs membership contains not only club racers but regional, national and international racers too so plenty of experience on hand to help the new racer. The club has been on the Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire boarder for over 20 years and arrived on Airfield road on January 2nd 2010.

Following planning approval the club reopened after 6 weeks of dedicated work undertaken by its members and friends to build one of the premier off road model car facilities in the area. The Nene runs its own winter and summer club series alongside welcoming regional and national rally cross and large scale meetings to its venue and has hosted dedicated sponsored meetings too.

In 2019, unknown to the club Chairman, the club had been nominated by a club member for the 2019 BRCA Club Of The Year and we were shortlisted and the eventual winners for the clubs charity efforts. This is the second time the club has won the club of the year as in 2010 the club was awarded the 2010 BRCA Club of the year for its charity work and members dedication in rebuilding the club following its relocation. In the same year the venue was nominated to host the 2012 Large Scale European Championship and was successful in its submission and again in 2015 when we welcomed overseas races back to the Nene for the 2017 LSOR Euros.

Since reopening the club has supported local and national charities with its annual Astro Attack meeting at the end of September with the club raising over £36,000 to date via this event.

The club have supported Scotty’s Little Soldiers charity, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Local charities, Rushden & Wellingborough McMillan Cancer Support Group, Cancer Trust, Dementia, Children with Diabetes, and  the Lullaby Trust since the first Astro Attack in 2010.

For those who can not attend a Nene meeting then for club transmits the trackside timing live on to the internet too alongside its YouTube stream too. If you bash, or want to try some RC racing, or even run your RC vehicle in a safe, controlled environment then please come along to the Nene.

We open most Sundays if the weather allows – check our calendar to see what we and our drivers are up too and don’t be afraid to visit our Facebook pages too.
